Apple iPhone's Crash Detection Saves Lives, Helps Rescue Couple After Accident

We have often seen Apple’s crash detection feature in headlines, and this time, the feature was used to rescue a couple after their BMW car met with an accident, according to a report by 9to5Mac.

For those uninitiated, Apple debuted the crash detection feature with the iPhone 14 series in September 2022, and since then, the feature has reportedly aided in the rescue of numerous victims of crashes and accidents. It works with iPhone 14 series, iPhone 15 series (iOS 16 and later), Apple Watch 8 and later, and Apple Watch SE 2 and Apple Watch Ultra and Watch Ultra 2.

According to the driver of the BMW E92, the driver of the BMW E90 suddenly pulled in front of him, and both crashed. That was when Apple’s car crash detection feature was enabled.

“Got into my first car crash as a passenger, and medics were surprised we walked away with only a few fractures. Thank you to the Apple SOS feature for calling 911 as I was in a state where I couldn’t, and notifying my emergency contacts of the situation,” the victim was quoted as saying by 9to5Mac.
